Cyanotype
The medium of cyanotype is known for its rich blue color. This blue color is a reference to the drug Truvada, which is taken to dramatically decrease the transmission of HIV and is primarily taken by gay men and trans women. To me, the medium is inherently linked to the drug conceptually (at least in my work) and is a routine part of life for many queer people. It is a simple part of our domestic lives. Using this medium, I render domestic objects like doilies and fabric - but also Truvada, condoms, lovers, and muses - in order to create a link between queer references and domestic references.
