Mushroom Studies (2015)

Flowers, trees, mountains... They are all a half-truth of nature the art world offers. Beautiful landscapes and picturesque floral arrangements fill galleries. These compositions, however, omit the darker and more grotesque elements of nature. Mushrooms, an overlooked part of nature in artistic compositions, are beautiful and striking in their own right. They can range from mundane to marvelous, and offer a certain truthfulness that flowers and trees often times can't.
