Studies in Domesticity

These sculptures are primarily “ready-made” found objects that have been altered using fabric or paint, or a variety of other materials. These domestic objects create a setting, but also communicate a sexual tension in the work. This relates to the place of sexuality in the home, especially as it relates to queer people. The floral motif has been appropriated to indicate the existence of sexuality in the artwork, as a means to normalize non-traditional relationships and interactions.
